MAN WHO SET BIOLOGICAL MORHER ABLAZE TO KNOW FATE 13 DECEMBER 2023

The High court Number One, presided by the Chief Judge of Niger State Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik has said that she will deliver Judgement on the case of culpable homicide brought against Stephen Jiya on the 13 of December 2023.
Stephen Jiya was standing trial for setting his biological Mother ablaze in Dutsen Kura area of Minna the capital of Niger State some times in 2022
He was swiftly picked up by men of the Homicide squad of the state Criminal investigation and Intelligent Department (SCIID) of the Niger State Police Command
Immediately after his arrest, he was taken to Custody and he was arraigned in Minna Chief Magistrate court before he was finally  charged to the state High court by the legal team of the office of the Attorney general in the Ministry of Justice for proper Prosecution.
He was earlier arraigned before  a Magistrate court by the operatives of the Homicide squad of the state Criminal investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) on a  Holden  charges while awaiting the legal advice from office of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP)  in the Office of the Attorney general for proper Prosecution In Court of Competent Jurisdiction.
He case file was finally brought from the Ministry of Justice after the legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution in the office of the Attorney general for his onward prosecution in accordance with the provision of Section 221 of the penal code law which attract death penalty.
The office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) in the office of the Attorney general in the Ministry of Justice formally charged him to the High court on the 14 of September 2022 under section 221  of the penal code law, which attract death penalty if found guilty
Hearing into the case commenced on the 23 of November 2022 and the Chief Judge had slated the 13 of December 2023 for final Judgment.
It will be recalled that Stephen Jiya set his biological mother ablaze during a hot argument with his Mother in Dutsen Kura area of Minna.
