Niger, Procurement officers ask to strickly adhere to professionalism.

Directors of Procurement in Niger state have been told to adhere strickly to their professional ethics on Prudent and Public financial management to realise the agenda of New Niger.
Alh Aliyu Goro who is the Permanent Secretary Human Resources Departmemt in the office of head of service stated this while declaring open a 2 Day workshop organized by the Centre for Ethics and Self Value – Orientation in Collaboration with the Niger State Public Procurement Board, held at Women Multi – Purpose Centre in Minna.
The head of service Engr Salisu who was represemtated by the permanent secretary human resources,said the workshop is to broaden the Knowledge of the procurement officers in the 25 local government areas in the state.
According to the head of service the training programme is part of the priorities of the present administration of Governor Umaru Bago to actualise the set objectives aimed at improving capacity building and their ability in ensuaring cheques and balance of their day to day affairs in their councils.
“Iam optimistic that after the workshop the procurement officers will be abreast with the importance of record keeping interns of procurement and the need to convince their principals of forbidden areas”.
The HOS told the participants that the workshop is an opportunity for the procurement officers and lucky to have a well groomed , experienced and disciplined Procurement experts.
He said they should take full advantage of the workshop and emulet a seasoned procurement officer who now become the permanent secretary of the Board through decipline and dedication to his duties.
The Head of Service appreciated the Centre for organizing the workshop and hope such gesture will be extended to the Civil Service in the State urged then to seek more collaboration with office of the Head of Service.
In his welcome address the Permanent Secretary, Niger State Public Procurement Board Shehu Jibrin in his welcome address said the training will enable Procurement Officers to deliver good governance through dedication and integrity to reflect Value for money through the application of core Procurement Principles.
He commended Governor Umar Mohammed Bago for providing enabling environment for Procurement functions to thrive in the State, stressing that since the Head of Service assumed office have given training and Capacity Building the needed Priority to Promote Productivity and Service delivery in the State.
