Gov Bago presents 613 billion Naira 2024 Budget,to resucitate ward development project

Governor Umar Mohamed Bago of Niger state,has presented over 613 billion Naira as 2024 fiscal budget with highest capital budget expenditure of over 464 billion Naira, which is 75 percent of the budget.

Presenting the 2024 budget to the state House of assembly with the theme,”Budget of the future” Umar Bago said the Budget is to be financed through recurrent revenue of 298,082 Billion Naira with statutory allocation of over 155 Billion Naira.

. The governor explained that the Budget is in pursuance of “our transformation Agenda for a new sustainable Niger,2024 Budget will mainly focuse on Urban renewal and rural transformation, security, infrastructural development.
others are Education health,Water and Sanitation including Women and Children”.

“The Budget is a pilot road map towards our shared  vision for a prosperous future which is why we have temed it the budget of future for a 20 year vision as Niger state future initiative.”

Bago further explained that since the coming of the present administration efforts is geared towards a new Niger to change the narratives to improve the quality of lives of citizens.

“So far the government have embarked on various projects which includes, ground breaking of Urban renewal projects in MINNA ,the ring road project at Bida , payment of 20percent subsidy on 100 trucks of fertilizers”.

Others are the payment of counterpart arrears to Donor supported project in the state,ATAPS,NG-CARES, value chain development, FADAMA and support to dry season farmers for the cultivation of 40,000 hectares of land and payment of 3.5 billion Naira.

According to the governor the state will key into the National financing frame work to encourage corporate social responsibility and to encourage investors for industrial development.

Bago further disclosed that the sum of 6.8 billion Naira have been allocated for Community development to resucitate the ward development initiative for the 274 political wards across the state.
