NIGER STATE LIQOUR LINCENSING BOARD TO COMMENCE ENFORCEMENT ON ILLEGAL SALES AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL

Niger State Liquor Licensing Board says it would begin the enforcement of illegal sales and consumption of alcoholic substance from 1st January, 2024 in Suleja and its environs just as it said some beer vendors within Minna town would also be served with letters to comply with the provision of the act establishing the board.
The Secretary of the board, Mal Ibrahim Muhammad Bonu, who stated this while speaking with newsmen, warned that staff of the board to stay away from any illegal activities and respect the eight kilometers radius from the post office as enshrined in the law.
According to him ” Based on the extent laws that established liquor board  nine (9) local governments areas were on the first schedule of prohibited areas and Suleja happened to be among, and as such, the board will ensure strict compliance with the law.”
He said the state government has given the board a mandate to help curb the sales and consumption of alcohol substances and that the board would do everything possible to justify the confidence reposed on it by the government
Mallam Ibrahim maintain that all beer vendor operating outside the confines of the law regardless of their position would not be spared and anyone caught would be prosecuted according to the law.
” we are not out for witch hunting anyone but to do our job according to the law establishing the board and we shall never relent in our effort to make the state a liquor free state based on the law establishing the board “he stressed
