The much-anticipated grand finale of John Owan Enoh (JOE) Tennis Tournament is set to take place on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 in what is a culmination of the Cross River State Open, at the prestigious Calabar Sports Club.
The JOE Tennis Tournament, a flagship initiative of Senator John Owan Enoh, is providing a platform for nurturing tennis talents, promoting sportsmanship, and fostering a culture of healthy competition. The tourney features an U15 category, doubles, women’s and men’s singles, and pro exhibition games.
Senator John Owan Enoh, chief organizer and Nigeria’s Minister of Sports Development, expresses enthusiasm and anticipation for the grand finale, stating that “the tournament represents a foundation for athletic excellence and dedication. It is a testament to our passion to support aspiring athletes and promote sports development within our communities”, he said.
He added that the tournament is “an avenue of giving back to the society and community as a son of the soil, empowering young and talented people to find purpose, pursue passion, and attain greatness.”
The tournament has witnessed a remarkable display of talent, determination, and sportsmanship among participants throughout its stages. As the grand finale approaches, excitement mounts not only among the competitors but also among tennis enthusiasts and supporters eagerly anticipating high-caliber matches and memorable moments, as the Minister also plans to attend.
The event promises an electrifying atmosphere, featuring competitive matches, awards ceremonies, and a celebration of the spirit of tennis. With the support of the Calabar Sports Club, this tournament aims to create a memorable experience for players and spectators alike.
The John Owan Enoh Foundation extends its gratitude to all participants, sponsors, volunteers, and attendees who have contributed to the success of the JOE Tennis Tournament and the Cross River State Open.
The grand finale of the tourney marks a significant milestone in the journey of the JOE Tennis Tournament, in what stands as a successful first year.
