Niger state CP urged to investigate incessant attacks on Washi Community in Lavun Local Government

A petition by a Minna based Legal practitioner Barrister Ibrahim Angulu has been forwarded to the Commissioner of Police in Niger State Mr. Ebenezer Shawulu Danmaman urging him to look into the incessant attacks and destruction of farmland in Washi Community of Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State.
The petition a copy of which was forwarded to Journalists in Minna decried the destruction of valuable properties and farmland as well as fish ponds belonging to the people of Washi, the act was carried out by people of Kashikoko Community all inhabitants of Lavun Local Government.
According to petition the two communities have Severally engaged in farm land dispute causing break down of law and order but the most affected are the people of Washi Community who experience incessant stealing of their farm produce for unknown reason.
It was alleged in the petition that the people of Kashikoko, in one of their attack some times in November 2022 that without any reason rice produce were stolen from farms.
The actors, according to the legal practitioner included Nmadu Yisa Yunusa yaabdani, Yanma Koko,. Nda Isah, Ya Gozan Ladan, Babayi Aliyu, Yanda Abu, Kuta Yakolo Gidigi, Alhaji Judy Koko (Village head) among others
He further alleged that they also armed themselves with machetes, Cutlasses, den guns, sticks and carted away over eighty (80) bags of harvested paddy rice together with two pumping machines, including five bag fertilizer four inches pumping machines and valuable iterms worth ten Million naira.
The attack according to the petition also Claimed the life of Adam Zabokun and six suspects were arrested and taken to state criminal Investigation department of the Niger state police command .
Three of the arrested suspects were later released while three others were charged to court and many. others are still on the run
The legal practitioner therefore called on the commissioner of police in Niger State and other security agencies in the state to safeguard the people of Washi Community from the incessant violence attack by Kashikoko Community.
