The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has assured civil servant in the state that the role of acting permanent secretaries in the state civil service would be eliminated completely under his administration
The Governor who spoke in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday during a Ramadan fast-breaking (Iftar) with permanent secretaries and members of boards and parastatals in the state maintained that he will continue to follow due process for effective administration in the state civil service.
According to him “The permanent secretaries currently on acting capacity would soon be confirmed after following due process.
“My administration will do everything possible to ensure that it ends the era of acting permanent secretaries in the state. Those permanent secretaries on acting capacity will soon become substantive perm-secs.
“Those who qualified to become will definitely become soonest. We will also make sure that quota system is observed, so that each local government area of the state is represented.
“Therefore, I want to use this medium to appeal to you all to support this administration to succeed. It is my desire to ensure infrastructural development across the state.”
The governor reiterated that before the completion of his first tenure the social, political and economic life of the people of the state would practically change for good stressing that Kebbi would be soon join the league of other big-big states in the country, in view of the ongoing developmental projects spread across the state.
The Permanent Secretary, Carbinet Office, Alhaji Dahiru Zaki who spoke on behalf of others appreciated the governor for the onerous opportunity to have the Iftar with the permanent secretaries in the state
He commended the governor for his efforts to complete the multi-million Naira state secretariat with the aim of bringing state civil servants under one roof.
He then gave assurances that civil servants in the state would throw their weight behind the current administration and support all its policies and programmes for effective delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of the state
