    Bearly few days after Governor Umar Bago of Niger state declared a state of emergency on thuggery, Maitumbi town a suburb in MINNA last Friday was engulfed by youth restiveness, three people killed,six Shops vandalised properties worth Millions of Naira carted away.
      The reports indicates that the youth restiveness has become an annual occurrence particularly at Maitumbi as hundreds of hoodlums converged at flamingo junction in pretence of fighting, but were operating freely broke into Shops for over two hours.
    Shops affected during the attack includes the shops of an auto mechanic,refrigerator mechanic, provision shop and a Shop of second hand ladies bags and shoes also containing minerals of various brands were carted away and cash by the hoodlums, seized handsets of passerby mostly passengers in tricycles plying Maitumbi Mobile road.
   According to the report the incidence which started at the Mining site behind Flamingo Estate Maitumbi one, Mrs Alofetekun, the  wife of late Akin Alofetekun of the Guardian Newspaper was attacked until about 10:30 pm of  Friday the  crisis escalated to the Flamingo Junction maitumbi and lasted for saveral hours as shops were looted at will.
    The sources added that three people were reportedly killed with several others Injured,also properties that includes cars,motorcycles, tricycles,were destroyed by the youths who used dangerous weapons, stones, cutlasses, bottles,machete, knives to carryout their nefarious activities in the area.
    We gathered that the security personnel at the scene have no option than to fold their hands to save their life from the antics of the hoodlums,as any action taken will not be taken with kids gloves compare to their population at the scene.
   Sources  disclosed that such nefarious acts has become an annual decimal at every sallah celebrations there is always youth restiveness,making innocent citizens to be victims were either killed,injured, their  properties looted and are not usually compensated by either the state or local governments.
    One of the victim, Mrs Alofetekun the wife of the late Correspondent of Guardian newspaper in Niger state Akin Alofetekun, said she was in Maitumbi uphill for special prayers session where her car was completely destroyed by the hoodlums.
    In an interview with some affected victims names  withheld express their fear over the looted  properties, according to them they have been confronted with similar attacks over the years but nothing good have come out of it,”we are handicapped, hopeless  for now on this matter.”
    Contacted, the Niger state police command Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun confirmed that two persons were killed and 6 suspects arrested in connection with the incident while the police is  still monitoring to apprehend other suspects.
