Kebbi dissolves 21 Local Government Administrators

The Kebbi State Government has announced the dissolution of all its 21 Local Government Council Administrators in the state.

This is contained in a circular addressed to the sole administrators signed by Aliyu Hassan-Kalgo, the Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs issued to Newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.

The circular reads in parts: “I am directed to write and notify you that His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris has directed the dissolution of Local Government Administrators in the state with immediate effect.

“All local government sole administrators are to hand over the affairs of the local government including all local government property in their possession to the Director of Administration of their respective local government councils on or before Thursday, July 25, 2024.”

He said the governor appreciated their contribution and successes recorded during their stewardship in the 21 LGAs and wish them Allah’s guidance and assistance in their future endeavours.

The outgoing sole administrators were sworn-in on Tuesday, March 6, 2024 to take charge of their respective councils after the expiration of the tenure of elected chairmen, elected Feb. 5, 2022.
