Gov. Idris flags-off construction of Jarman Kabi road in Argungu
The Kebbi State Governor, His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has flagged-of the construction of Jarman Kabi road in Shagari Quarters of Argungu town.
Speaking while flagging-off of the project at Argungu in Argungu Local Government Area on Tuesday, the governor lauded the National Organising Secretary of APC, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, who facilitated the project.
Gov. Idris urged all other elected and political office holders in the state to borrow a leaf from the national organising secretary to influence projects and services that have direct bearing to the lives of their people.
While appreciating the people of Argungu Emirate for the overwhelming reception any time he visit the emirate, the governor assured that he had fulfilled over 80 per cent of his campaign promises to the Emirate Council.
He used the occasion to announce that contract for total rehabilitation of Argungu General Hospital has been awarded in the sum of N500 million, adding that another N500 million was set aside for the provision of modern facilities in the hospital.
In his speech, the national organising secretary appreciated President Bola Tinubu for his magnanimity in approving the project as well as Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for playing a significant role in facilitating the project.
Suleiman Argungu commended Gov. Idris for proving to the people of Kebbi State, that he was once a teacher by establishing a primary school and junior secondary school in a community where there was none.
He also appreciated the governor for renovating the palace of Emir of Argungu to be one of the best palaces in the Fulani emirates.
The Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammadu-Mera, commended the governor for facilitating the establishment Agric Processing Zone in Argungu.
The processing zone, when actualised would make Kebbi State an agricultural hub not only in Northern Nigeria but also across Nigeria.
The Monarch said over 500 hectres of land had been cleared and payment of compensation to land owners had already begun.
He thanked the governor for embarking on different developmental projects which transformed the state and encouraged him to keep the flag flying for the betterment of Kebbi State people.
