The Nigeria labour congress NLC, Niger state Chapter said it is a record breaking testimony by Governor’ Umar Mohamed Bago’s welfare package for the state Civil servants.

The state Chairman, Nigeria Labour congress,NLC, Comrade IdreesĀ  Abdulkaarem Lakpene,stated this in a chat with Newsmen in his office along IBB road in MINNA.

He said governor Umar Bago have no doubt distinguishes himself from his predecessors for making life more meaningful for people of the state particularly civil servants for approving the payment of 80 thousand Naira New minimum wage, against the 70 thousand by the federal government.

Lakpene pointedĀ  out that since the coming of the governor a lot of success stories have been realize through the collective efforts of the state executive council SEC of the NLC for the struggle of the welfare package for workers.

He further explained that,through unity, resilience, and unwavering commitment, we achieved several milestones that haveĀ  strengthened the trust and confidence of our workforce in the state.

” Iam proud of the contributions of the SEC for their untiring efforts to achieve this laundable achievements, ensuring the implementation of the ₦80,000Ā  State Minimum Wage, for both state and LGA workers”

According to the NLC Chairman,Others includes the resumption of gratuity payments, with 11 tranches of ₦500 million each for state and LGA workers as well as payment of Wage Awards for civil servants at both state and LGA levels, and other numerous but to mention a few.

The Chairman however was optimistic that inspite of the numerous achievement so far recorded, we still look forward for more under our visionary leadership to achieve greater heights.

“With the support of SEC, we will continue to prioritize the welfare of workers, foster industrial harmony and advance our collective agenda for sustainable development and progress of our members”.

“We should all remain steadfast, united and committed to our shared goals ahead to enhance the dignity, rights and well-being of workers across the state, Lakpene reinterated”..
