Etsu Nupe commiserates ex Niger SSG, Prof Yahaya on mother’s death

By Mohammed Baba Busu

Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger state Council of Traditional Rulers has condoled Prof Muhammad kuta Yahaya, Pro Chancellor, Abdulkadir Kure University Minna, over the death of his mother, Hajiya Fatima Yawo Yahaya.

Yawo Yahaya died on April 27 after a brief illness.

Condoling Prof Kuta Yahaya, the Magatakarda Nupe at his residence in Minna on Monday, the Etsu Nupe described the demise as great loss to her family, Bida Emirate, Niger and the country as a whole.

Alhaji Abubakar described late Yawo Yahaya as a very humble, pious, committed and dedicated mother who raised generations of people who had been contributing to national development, including Prof Muhammad kuta Yahaya, the Seceratry, Presidential Livestock Reforms Implementation Committee.

“The deceased showed love to the people who live in her domain, irrespective of their tribe and religious inclination.

“In spite of these, she was a Godly woman who had the interest of her people at heart above any other things,” the traditional ruler said in a condolence message.

Alhaji Abubakar also described her as a committed technocrat, patriotic woman and a de-tribalised Nigerian.

“Though God has his reasons for taking her at this point in time, the people of the state have enjoyed her motherly advice, which will be greatly missed,” the royal father added.

The Etsu Nupe, however, urged the deceased family to sustain her good legacy, adding that she always put the unity of the country first, irrespective of ethnic, political and religious divides.

He prayed to God to grant her soul eternal rest in Aljannatul fildausi and reward her soul in eternity.
