Niger State Badminton Team Returns from 22nd National Sports Festival in Ogun, Receives Warm Welcome

The Niger State Badminton Association team returned to a warm and spirited reception following their participation in the just-concluded 22nd National Sports Festival held in Ogun State. The team, which represented the state with pride and determination, was received by the Chairman of the Niger State Badminton Association, Alhaji Nma Kolo, who commended their efforts and expressed optimism for the future.

Speaking during the welcome ceremony at the Minna ultra modern badmitton sports complex, Alhaji Kolo praised the athletes for their dedication, discipline, and commendable representation of Niger State on the national stage. While acknowledging that the team clinch top honors this time, he emphasized that their performance was a step in the right direction and a sign of greater things to come.

“You have made us proud by representing Niger State with courage and sportsmanship. This is just the beginning. With more training, support, and exposure, I am confident that this team will achieve greater success in the future editions of the National Sports Festival and other national competitions,” Alhaji Kolo stated.

He further reiterated the association’s commitment to investing in grassroots development, coaching, and competitive opportunities for players at all levels. According to him, plans are already underway to organize more local tournaments and training programs to prepare the team ahead of future events.

Several team members expressed gratitude for the support they received throughout the journey and echoed their determination to build on the experience gained at the festival.

The National Sports Festival in Ogun State featured hundreds of athletes from across the country competing in various sports disciplines, with badminton remaining one of the most fiercely contested categories.

As the team settles back in Niger State, the focus now shifts to preparation, mentorship, and strategic development to ensure the state rises to greater heights in the sport of badminton.
