Creation of Kainji State is Genuine for Equity, Justice and Fairness – IBETO

The Steering Committee for the Movement for the Creation of Kainji State out of Kebbi and Niger States has disclosed the all the constitutional requirements for the creation has been met and deserved the opportunity for a state.
The Committee Chairman led by Ambassador Ahmed Musa Ibeto made this known during a press briefing held at the IBB Pen House Minna, saying that three Emirates to include; Kontagora, Zuru and Borgu.
Ibeto informed that three Emirates have agreed through Memorandum of Understanding to sight the headquarter of the state in Kontagora following the availability of infrastructure and it’s central, economic activities, over 70 percent bodies of longest water among others.
According to him, currently Kontagora has six local government areas, Zuru has four local governments while Borgu has two councils hence the agitation for the creation of also additional local government areas when the state creation is realized.
The former deputy governor insisted that there demand is genuine for equity, justice and fairness, noting that Niger state is the only state that has not been split since its creation in 1976 despite the size, over 2.4 million population, occupying 47,000 square kilometers out of the current 76,363 square kilometers of Niger state.
