The Commissioner of Police in Niger State CP Adamu Abdullahi Ellenman, has said that the Thirty Five women Victims rescued from the enclaves of Bokoharam are in protective Custody not in detaintion as Speculated.

The Commissioner of Police stated that the claimed from some quarters that the women were threatening to go back to their captives in the forest is a calculated move to create tension

He said the Niger State Goverment has provided the command with the needed supports that will assist the Victims while in the protective Custody

According to the Commissioner of Police, the victims and their children need adequate medication and good leaving condition which the goverment has already provided to them and ” we are given them a reoriatation before returning them back to their respective Community”.

Speaking with Journalists in his office in Minna Friday, CP Adamu Elleman debunked the rumour that the Victims were kept in detaintion Facility along with their children as a result that the women prefer going back to their enclaves to meet their abductors.

The operatives of the Anti Kidnapping squad of the Niger State Police Command, led by the head of the squad DSP Ahmed Saidu,in the part of July, intercepted some vehicles conveying the women and their children along Tegina, Madaka ,Birnigwari and Yauri in Kebbi state rescuing them from the Bokoharam.

The three drivers of the vehicles were also arrested and are helping the command with vital informations that will assist the command on where he is conveying them to.

The women were said to have been abducted by the Bokoharam from Sarkinpawa in Munya local government area and some part of Shiroro and Rafi Local government and since their abduction they have been in the hands of their captive in the last five years.

Speaking further, the Commissioner of Police told Journalists that the command under his watch is commited in ensuring their security and their wellbeings stressing that the rumour of releasing them back to their captives is baseless and unfounded.

” As I’m talking to you now, these women and their children are all leaving well and Comfortable in the protective custody.

” The goverment has provided all of them with matrasses and their basic needs. The goverment has done so much by providing money for their feedings.

” So the issue of not taken care of these women is not true and is far from the truth. By the time we have given them the orientation and their medically fit then we will reunited with their families.” CP Elleman told Journalists.
