In his highly committed gesture for another round to his people of  Mokwa to continued to fill at home in times of distress, Dr. Joshua Audu Gana, Member representing Lavun, Mokwa, and Edati Federal Constituency in Niger State, has once again touches the life of his people.

 

It would be recalled that on June 14,2025, the house of representative’s member during his first visit donated the sum of ₦5 Million to the family of the affected disaster at Mokwa, also visited IDP’s camp Tifinmadza and Ndayako community to commiserate with the victims.

Joshua who is the first son of former information Minister, professor Jerry Gana, while delivering the food items, with another one million Naira donation by one of his colleagues in the National assembly,said his concern to the plight of those affected in May 29 flooding is always giving him a sleepless nights the reason he is moved for the second term.

 

“Iam deeply moved by their plight,it is a natural disaster which can occur at any time to anybody and as people’s representative,I feel the feelings of my people,that is why recently even at the National Assembly on July 2,2025, I moved a motion urging the Federal Government to intensify relief efforts, by  supporting the affected families, and implement preventive measures to avert future reoccurrence”.

“This is in fulfilment of my earlier promise during my first visit that I will provide every necessary support to rebuild the lives of my people who were severely affected by the flood”this second round of  essential relief materials to the affected communities is right from the bosom of my heart”Joshua added.

 

The food items includes rice, maize, spaghetti, salt, Maggi cubes, groundnut oil, and tomato paste, and were carefully distributed by his aides and NEMA officials to ensure fairness in ensuring that the most vulnerable received the items first..

While distributing the items on yesterday, the Director of Administration to the  House of Representatives member, Pastor Jacob Saba,said before now Joshua had mobilized other humanitarian assistance from well-meaning individuals to cushion the effects of disaster.

Saba however advised the beneficiaries to judiciously utilise the food items provided for them,as the items are meant to cushion the effects of the disaster to ameliorate their sufferings.

 

The victims expresses their heartfelt gratitude.to the Hon Joshua who they described as a their true representative,This no doubt will serve as a lifeline for us,” “and we will never forget his kindness.”

Traditional rulers, PDP stakeholders,which also includes Barrister Suleiman Zhigun the state party secretary witnessed the event.
