A three man investigative Committee on the allegation of gross misconduct brought against the suspended Chairman of Chanchaga local government Council Hon. Aminu Yakub Ladan has Commenced it’s Public hearing in Minna.
The three member investigative Committee was inaugurated by governor Umar Mohammed Bago to Investigate the embattled Chairman over the allegations brought against him by the legislative council of the Local goverment.
The embattled Chairman swiftly rushed to Court through his Attorney Barrister Anthony Orifumishe to restrain the councilors from taking any Unpleasant actions against him.
Justice Mohammed Mohammed of Minna High Court number four in his rulling on the interlocutory injuction filed by the embttled Chairman through his counsel Barrister Orifumishe, Justice Mohammed ordered the Councilors restraining them from suspending or impeaching him.
At the inaugural hearing of the Investigative Committee, Thursday, at the Conference hall of the IBB University guest house in Minna the Chairman of the three member committee Justice Mikhail Abdullahi announced that a letter informing the Committee of the pending suit filed against the councilors was brought to the committee.
He said the letter drew the attention of the Investigative Committee of the interlocutory injuction earlier granted by a High court in Minna, restraining the suspension and impeachment of the respondent by the councirlors.
He further told members and the lead counsel of the committee Barrister Nuraini Baba Usman that the letter stated that the High court has granted the prayers sought by the counsel to the respondent that the order earlier granted by the High court still stand and the committee should stay further action pending the final determination of the pending suit.
According to the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, the counsel also informed the committee that the letter was recieved Wednesday,the 20th of August 2025 and ” they needed more times to prepare for their defense”
Justice Mikhail then told the lead counsel to respond to the letter as summited by the counsel to the suspended council.
At this point, the lead counsel, Barrister Nuraini Baba Usman, objected to the submission of the counsel to the council Chairman on the ground that the earlier suit filed at the Minna High Court number four has been transferred to Suleja High court.
” My Lord. The earlier case filed at the Minna High Court number four is now transfered to Suleja High court. The case is now to start afresh (denovo),
” Also,my Lord. The injunction granted by the High court restraining the impeachment and the suspension is ineffective and I objected to the content of the letter with exception of the late recieving of the letter inviting the chairman to appear before the Investigative committee”.Nuraini told the Committee.
While rulling on the submission of the lead counsel, Justice Mikhail Abdullahi held that the earlier interlocutory injuction granted is ineffective and the suit filed in Suleja High court remain ineffective .
He further held that the lateness in the letter summited to the embattled Chairman is considered.
He then directed the secretary of the Investigative Committee Barrister Ibrahim Mohammed Babangida to write new letter to the Chairman to appear on Monday,the 25th of August, 2025.
