NANISS ABU ZARIA HONOURS ALHAJI ABDULLAHI WASAGI (FCNA) AS DIGITAL FINANCIAL EXPERT OF THE YEAR
The National Association of Niger State Students (NANISS), Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, has once again reaffirmed its commitment to celebrating excellence and inspiring future leaders by recognizing distinguished personalities who have made outstanding contributions to society.
At a well-attended event held at the prestigious Tanimu Balarabe Conference Hall, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, the Association hosted its annual lecture themed: “Students as Farmer Models for the Farmer Governor of Niger State.” The keynote lecture, originally slated for Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, former Governor of Niger State was ably delivered on his behalf by Prof. Muhammad Kuta Yahaya, Pro-Chancellor, Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna who spoke extensively on the importance of students embracing agriculture as a pathway to supporting Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s agricultural revolution in Niger State.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of a meritorious award to Alhaji Abdullah Wasagi (FCNA), Director of Finance, Office of the Secretary to the Government of Niger State, Minna. He was honored with the prestigious title of “Digital Financial Expert of the Year” in recognition of his exemplary contributions to financial innovation, accountability and service to humanity.
In his acceptance remarks, Alhaji Wasagi expressed profound gratitude to Almighty God for His blessings and guidance throughout his career. He also extended heartfelt appreciation to NANISS ABU Zaria for finding him worthy of the prestigious honour.
The Director Finance extended his heartfelt appreciation to the leadership and members of NANISS ABU Zaria for deeming him worthy of the honour. “I am deeply humbled and immensely grateful to NANISS for this prestigious recognition. This award is not just a personal achievement but a testament to the collective efforts of my team at the SSG’s Office who are committed to embracing innovation for efficient governance.”
He further reiterated his commitment to leveraging his expertise for the greater good, stating, “This honour serves as a great motivation to redouble my efforts. I am more inspired than ever to continue contributing to the advancement of digital financial literacy, promoting transparency in public finance and using my position to serve humanity and the good people of Niger State.”
The event was graced by academics, Government officials, students and stakeholders who in their separate remarks commended NANISS for recognizing excellence while also driving discussions around youth participation in agriculture and leadership.
The Association reiterated its resolve to continue promoting the ideals of excellence, service and innovation among Niger State students and beyond.
