WARD DEVELOPMENT PROJECT: NIGER SSG REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT, COMMENDS COMMITTEE ON PROGRESS REPORTS

The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, has expressed satisfaction with the work of the Niger State Ward Development Project Committee, reaffirming the present administration’s commitment to grassroots transformation and improvement of the living conditions of the populace.

Alhaji Usman gave the commendation when he received members of the Committee, led by its Chairman, Muhammed Falalu Bako, at the Conference Hall of SSG’s Office, Minna.

The SSG emphasized that the Ward Development Project is a strategic initiative of the administration of Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago aimed at delivering sustainable development across the 274 wards in the 25 Local Government Areas of the State. He stated that the project represents a direct response to the yearnings and aspirations of the people and demonstrates Government’s determination to entrench inclusiveness in governance.

While commending the Committee for the diligence and transparency displayed in the discharge of its responsibilities, Alhaji Usman assured that Government will provide the necessary support to ensure the timely and effective implementation of identified projects. He urged the Committee to sustain its engagement with communities for accountability and ownership of the projects.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Committee, Muhammed Falalu Bako, presented progress reports on the proposed projects across the 274 wards, covering areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, water, empowerment initiatives and other relevant sectors.

The Chairman expressed appreciation to the Government for its support and assured that the Committee remains resolute in its commitment to achieving the objectives of the initiative.

The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge by the State Government and the Committee to work together in actualizing the vision of Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago for a prosperous, developed and inclusive Niger State.
