Former Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Mohammed Nami, has congratulated the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar, on his 73rd birthday and 22nd anniversary on the throne.
In a statement on Thursday in Bida, Nami described the royal father as a revered leader whose reign has been marked by peace, unity, progress and the promotion of cultural values in Nupe land and beyond.
He said the Etsu Nupe had continued to demonstrate uncommon wisdom, humility and courage in leadership, adding that his reign had brought honour to the Nupe Kingdom and the entire Niger State.
“On behalf of my family and associates, I extend my heartfelt felicitations to His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar, CFR, on this joyous occasion of his 73rd birthday and the commemoration of 22 remarkable years on the throne of his forefathers.
“Your reign has been a blessing, not only to the Nupe people, but also to Nigeria as a whole. You have distinguished yourself as a custodian of culture, a peace builder, and a father to all, irrespective of tribe, religion or political affiliation.
“As you mark this double celebration, I pray Almighty Allah to grant you good health, more wisdom, and many more fruitful years in the service of humanity,” Nami said.
The former FIRS boss further urged sons and daughters of Nupe Kingdom to continue to rally around the Etsu in sustaining the legacies of peace, unity and development.
