Emir of Agaie mourns retired Captain Baro

By Mohammed Baba Busu

The Emir of Agaie, Alhaji Yusuf Nuhu, has expressed deep shock over the death of Capt. Mohammed Hassan Baro, Permanent Commissioner IV at the Niger State Independence Electoral Commission.

The traditional ruler described late Capt. Baro, as pious, loyal, humble, hardworking, dedicated and committed son of his emirate.

Alhaji Nuhu said this shortly after the burial rites of deceased in Minna on Tuesday.

Alhaji Nuhu also expressed deep sorrow over the death of retired Capt. Baro, described the deceased as a humble, respected and dedicated son of his domain, who lived a life of service to humanity

He said the late Capt. Baro was also honest, a great pillar at the emirate and a reliable servant whose services would be greatly missed by the entire people of Agaie emirate, Niger and indeed Nigeria at large.

“The deceased showed love to the people in our domain, irrespective of tribe or religious inclination.

“God has His reason for calling him home at this point in time, as the people of the emirate have enjoyed his advice, which will be greatly missed,” Emir of Agaie said.

He noted that Captain Baro’s passing was a great loss not only to his family but also to the entire Agaie Emirate and Nupe land, urging the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that he lived a worthy and impactful life.

The royal father prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late retired Capt Baro and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and to as well give Gov Umaru-Bago, government and people of Niger, Agaie emirate, associates and the family to bear his loss with calm.

It would be recalled that late Capt. Baro was a one-time Chairman, Agaie Local Government Council and Director of Protocol during Gov. Babangida Aliyu’s tenure.
