NIGER SSG REINFORCES COMMITMENT TO SERVICE DELIVERY THROUGH STRATEGIC PERFORMANCE REVIEW…PLEDGES STRONGER IMPLEMENTATION OF KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, has reaffirmed the State Government’s unwavering commitment to improving service delivery and fulfilling its promises to the people through a robust performance management system.
This was the central focus of a top management meeting chaired by the SSG, which brought together Permanent Secretaries, Directors and the Heads of Units of SSG’s Office held at the Conference Hall.
During the meeting, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) were extensively discussed as a vital tool for evaluating performance, ensuring accountability and aligning the efforts of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) with the vision of the Niger State Government under the leadership of Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago.
Alhaji Usman urged all management staff to take the KPI framework seriously as a means of tracking progress and identifying areas that require improvement. He noted that effective performance measurement is essential to building a responsive, efficient and people-centered Government.
The SSG emphasized that KPIs are crucial tools for measuring progress, ensuring accountability and evaluating the impact of Government policies and programmes in various sectors.

The management team engaged in extensive deliberations on strategies to enhance the state’s performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and streamline processes to achieve set targets.
The meeting was notably productive, with all attendees actively contributing to the discourse. The SSG’s leadership provided clear guidance, fostering a collaborative environment aimed at achieving consensus on the way forward.
A key outcome of the meeting was the collective resolve to ensure that the decisions and strategies formulated are swiftly and effectively implemented across all departments.
The Niger State Government, under the leadership of Farmer Umaru Bago, has demonstrated a clear and actionable commitment to performance excellence. The focused discussion on KPIs marks a significant step in the right direction, setting a new benchmark for accountability and service delivery in the state. The government is optimistic that these measures will yield significant progress and positively impact the lives of the people of Niger State.
Before delving into the agenda, Alhaji Usman called for a moment of solemn reflection to condole with the management and staff over the recent demise of Hajiya Hadiza Tani Usman, the Head of Procurement.
In a heartfelt address, the SSG described the late Hajiya Hadiza as a dedicated and committed public servant. He prayed to the Almighty to grant her soul eternal rest and to give her family, colleagues and the entire office the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
“We have lost a diligent and valuable member of our team. Her contributions to this office will not be forgotten. We pray that Allah grants her Jannatul Firdaus and gives us all the strength to bear this loss,” the SSG stated.
