Ndarani, SAN mourns victims of Niger tanker explosion, urges caution during fuel accidents

By Mohammed Baba Busu

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Barrister Mohammed Mohammed-Ndarani, has expressed deep sorrow over the petrol tanker explosion that claimed several lives at Essa village in Katcha Local Government Area of Niger State along the Bida-Agaie highway.

Ndarani described the incident as “very unfortunate and a big loss to the state,” adding that it was a painful tragedy that could have been avoided.

He advised residents to desist from scooping petrol whenever such accidents occur, stressing that life is more valuable than any material gain.

“Our lives are very important. People should run away whenever they see petrol tanker fire incidents instead of rushing to collect fuel,” he warned.

The Senior Advocate commiserated with Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, the Bida Emirate, the people of Niger State, and the families of the deceased.

He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries in the explosion.

Ndarani further appealed to the Federal Government to urgently repair the Bida-Lapai-Lambata highway, which he described as a “death trap” due to its deplorable condition.

He noted that the poor state of the road continues to endanger the lives of motorists and commuters, calling for immediate intervention to avert future tragedies.
