Vice president visits idp camps in Niger.

Vice President, Alh. Kasim Shettima said  the federal government has taken proactive measures to rid communities across the country of Bandits, and Boko Haram.

He also  reassured Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Niger state of Federal Government’s commitment to to ensure safe return to their ancestral homes.

Shetima gave the assurance during a visit to  the IDPs camp at Gwada in Shiroro local government area of Niger state.

He told the 5,823 IDPs in the camp that the federal government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working tirelessly to ensure that IDPs not only in Niger state, but the entire country return back to their various homes.

” We are here today, along with the Governor of Kwara state and some ministers on behalf of the President,.The president asked us to tell you that, he has not forgotten you, will make life meanignful and easy for you”

The vice president also stated that the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration has released the sum of N108 billion which was shared to the 36 states of the federation to mitigate the impact of banditry and insurgency activities as well as natural disasters across the country.

” We are here to sympathize with you over insecurity and flood disaster. Though, flood affected a lot of states, let’s take as an act of God. Many towns were affected, some died, homes washed away, , businesses, animals were destroyed. And, to mitigate it’s effects, as a result the federal government released the some of N3b to each state in the country.

Earlier in his address, the Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago said there are a total of 14 camps across the state made up of victims from banditry, flood and communal clashes.

He told the IDPs in the camp that the federal government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not forgotten them as their plight have been given serious attention, “
