APC ranks Gov. Idris among best 3 Governors in Nigeria

The National Organising Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad-Argungu, has eulogised the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, describing him as one of the best three governors of the party.

He made this known in Argungu on Saturday during a thank you tour to 21 Local Government Areas of the state embarked upon by the governor.

Muhammad-Argungu said: “We are proud of you Your Excellency, I want to assure you that you are among the best three governors we are proud of in terms of developmental projects.

“By our ranking, if you don’t become the best governor, you will be second in terms of performance.”

The national organising secretary said the thank you tour embarked upon by the governor was a testament to the fact that “you are a true leader.”

He urged members of the party to do everything possible to promote understanding, tolerance and unity among themselves for the growth of the party.

In his speech, Gov. Idris promised to continue with the transformational strides he already started in the state.

The governor recalled that before the present administration came onboard, farmers in the Southern part of the state have abandoned their homes and farmlands due banditry activities in the area.

He, however, noted with satisfaction that today, farmers have returned to their houses and farmlands following relative peace occasioned by the concerted and collaborative efforts of government with security agencies.

Addressing people at Gwandu and Augie local government areas, the governor urged people to pray for both Kebbi and Nigeria to remain peaceful, observing that no society would record meaningful development in an atmosphere of rancho or breach of peace.

Gov. Idris lauded his predecessor and current Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Atiku Bagudu for facilitating some developmental projects from the federal government to Kebbi State.

The governor appreciated the people of the state for their cooperation and support to his administration

Sen. Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning and former governor of Kebbi State, lauded the people for the support and cooperation they were rendering to the present administration at all levels and urged them to sustain the tempo.

He also commended the governor for embarking on the thank you tour, describing it as a testament to good intention of the governor towards his people.

While appreciating Gov. Idris for transforming the state, the minister observed that it was the ambition of every good leader to ensure that he choose a successor “who is better than him in bringing positive development to the people.

“It is our desire that other states across Nigeria will emulate the developmental strides of the governor.”

On his part, the State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru said they were in the areas to say thank you to the people for voting their party at polls.

“His Excellency is here on behalf of APC, government and good people of Kebbi State to thank you for the honour done to him during election,” he noted.
