Minna high court ordered arrest of MD Polaris Bank Omokayose Lawal for contempt

A Minna High Court Number Six Presided by Justice Maimuna Abubakar has ordered for the arrest of the Managing Director of Polaris Bank Mr Omokayode Lawal for his refusal to honour court summons.

Also the Minna branch manager of the Bank Mr. has been ordered to be arrested for his refusal to appear in court..

The Niger State Internal Revenue Service (NSIRS), through its lawyer Mohammed Kudu Ndayako, SAN has approached the court to compel the banks to pay the tax it envaded the state government.

Several adjournment of the case and series of summons issued to the both defendants have not been honored.

At the Monday, resume sitting of the court both the Managing Director of the bank and the Minna branch manager were conspicuously absence in court.

As a result of their absence in court the counsel to the state Revenue Service Mohammed Kudu Ndayako SAN prayed the court to invoke arrest warrant on the them to compel them to appear in court

While ruling on the oral application as prayed by Kudu Ndayako SAN Justice Maimuna ordered an arrest warrant on them.

She ordered the police to go after them and take them to the correctional Custody to be arraigned on the next adjourned date for contempt of court.

She then adjourned the case to Friday,the 13th of December 2024.
