Niger Gov presents 1.5 trillion Naira budget to state Assembly.

Governor Umar Bago of Niger state says the 2025 Budget of 1.5 trillion Naira is exceptional as it will strengthen the foundation laid for the rapid socio- economic development of the state.
Governor’ Bago stated this while presenting the 2025 Budget tagged “Budget of hope for sustainability and food security” at the state house of assembly in MINNAÂ late last Thursday.
” This Budget is to strengthen strides already achieved as our delibrate focus on ensuring a sustainability and to secure the future for all Nigerlites for a New Niger, urged for your support, cooperation and understanding of all and sundry.”
The 2025 Budget which is higher than that of 2024 by 48.3 percent is based on the Economic and fiscal update ( EFU), fiscal strategy paper (FSP ),and Budget statement (BPS) as passed by the state house of assembly.
Shedding more light on the break down of the budget it indicates that infrastructure, housing and urban renewal sector got the highest allocation to the tune of over 437 Billion Naira, while law and justice got the lowest allocation at 3.5 billion Naira.
The governor disclosed that the budget revenue will be derived from statutory allocation,value added tax and tax receipts,IGR other IGR and Capital receipts.
Responding shortly after the presentation by the Governor,the speaker of the state house of Assembly, Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji commended the governor for his strategic stewardship of the state resources which has resulted in transformative impacts on the lives of the citizens.
Sarkin Daji reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the 11th assembly continued support to the Bago led admnistration, reinterated his hope that the next coming fiscal year will bring more transformative development to make Niger state a model of progress that will entranch New Niger agenda.
