Niger State Liquor and Licensing Board to Clamp down on Illegal Operators.

The Niger State Liquor and Licensing Board has outline strategies to reposition it’s activities and operation in line with it’s mandate of regulating the distribution and consumption of liquor in the State.

The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Board Barrister Yahaya Halidu disclosed this during a meeting with Liquor distributors and Vendors from Chanchaga, Bosso and Paikoro Local Governments Areas.

The Director General said since his assumption in office November Last year the Board has set out modalities to help achieve it’s mandates in accordance with the New Niger Agenda of Governor Umar Muhammed Bago of ensuring safety and security of the people and infrastructure development .

He said the meeting is to have an interface with the Distributors and Vendors on the major steps and operational guidelines taken to ensure that they conduct their businesses within the ambit of law and in comformity with establish conditions and guidelines.

The DG said the Niger state laws which allows the sales of Liquor substance is still enforce provided that the operators didn’t deviat and also paid their taxes accordingly.

He said recently the Board has Directed one woman who operates along SAUKAKAHUTA to within Seven Days close her Business for operating around residential areas

He therefore charged the Operators to desist from selling to under age, operating within residential areas as well as allowing the sales or taking of illicit Drugs.

“The Board has set up a Task force  that will ensure compliance and clamp down of defaulters, we therefore expect your support and cooperation in achieving this mandate”

“The Department of Anti prostitution adultery and fornication of the Board will also checkmate the activities of some miscreants that engage in immoral acts at City gate Kpakungu, Bosso among others” the DG asserted.

Barrister Yahaya Halidu while seeking for cooperation from public on reporting illegal operators, however warned his staff against doing anything that will undermine the activities of the board.
