Prestige FM Radio Minna Donates to Mokwa Flood Victims

 

The Management of Prestige FM Radio Minna have donated relief materials worth millions of naira to the victims of Mokwa flood disaster as parts of its social responsibility to the society.

The station Executive Director, Malam Yusuf Ibrahim Ladan announced the donation during his condolence visit and presentation of sixteen sacks of items at Mokwa Secretariat, Mokwa local government area of Niger state, urging the people to take the incident in good faith.

Yusuf Ladan decried over the numbers of those who lost their lives and the level of destruction of structures as a result of the flooding, described as alarming and devastating hence the intervention while calling for adherence to safety measures.

Representated by the News Editor Yakubu Mustapha Bina who called on similar organizations, individuals, cooperate organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations to give their support to the victims by emulating Prestige FM for its humanitarian gesture, as government alone can not take the costs..

He stressed that governments at all levels most ensure the needful is done for the protection lives and properties of the citizens by ensuring proactive measures are put in place to avert future reoccurrence. While he advised the residents to avoid building on the flood prone areas in order to curb such avoidable casualties in the future.

Receiving the items, the Acting Director General Niger State Emergency Management Agency NSEMA, Doctor Hussaini Ibrahim represented by the agency Field Officer, Mohammed Jiya applauded the kind gesture from the Prestige FM Radio Minna and thanked the station while urging other organizations to emulate them.

Also, Chairman Mokwa local government, Abdullahi Muregi represented by a Councillor Mohammed Sani appreciate the compassion of the station for given back to the society especially those desperately in need.

Items donated were clothes consist of children and adults wears including ;trausers, shirts, shoes, silpass, hijabs, over 150 rappers among others aimed at alleviating the plight of the affected victims.
