Rep. Gana Partners NADDC to promote clean energy in his constituency

By Mohammed Baba Busu

Hon. Joshua Audu Gana, the Representative of Lavun, Mokwa, and Edati Federal Constituency, has partnered with the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) to promote clean energy initiatives and youth empowerment in his constituency.

This followed a meeting with the NADDC Director-General, Mr Joseph Osanipin, Gana, aimed at leveraging Federal Government’s opportunities under the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) policy.

The partnership will launch a comprehensive clean energy and skills development program to drive economic growth, environmental sustainability, and job creation across the three local governments.

According to Gana, the initiative will provide CNG training and certification for youths and professionals in vehicle conversion, maintenance, and energy handling, as well as skills development for artisans, welders, and auto technicians in alternative fuel technologies.

This collaboration is set to empower youths and promote sustainable development in the constituency.

He said, “the collaboration aims to launch a comprehensive clean energy and skills development programme to promote economic growth, environmental sustainability, and job creation across the three local governments”.

Speaking after the meeting on Friday, Gana said the initiative will focus on CNG training and certification for youths and professionals in vehicle conversion, maintenance, and energy handling, as well as skills development for artisans, welders, and auto technicians in alternative fuel technologies.

The programme will also drive energy efficiency awareness, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and open up entrepreneurial opportunities in the green energy sector.

“This is more than talk, we are delivering change. It’s time to skill up, power up, and lead the charge toward a sustainable and economically vibrant future,” Gana stated, adding that the project aligns with the Federal Government’s push for clean, affordable energy alternatives.

He stressed that the initiative would position Lavun, Mokwa, and Edati as hubs for innovation, empowerment, and energy leadership, with the NADDC playing a key role in training youths for long-term development.

In his remarks, Osanipin commended Gana for his commitment to his campaign promises, assuring that the council would support training in the constituency, including heavy-duty vehicle operations for Mokwa due to its significant traffic flow.

“We are in the business of building capacity. Training is our core, and in recent times, we have been deeply involved in energy transition and CNG. We will sit down, review our programmes, and identify specific areas to work with you,” the NADDC boss said.

Gana also presented his 30-point legislative agenda to the council, highlighting areas for collaboration.
