Niger State Rotary Action Group flags off grassroots peace and security initiative
To commemorate the world peace day in Niger State,Rotary Action Group for peace in Nigeria has flags off the grassroots peace and security assessment in the State.
Speaking at a one day stakeholders meeting on Thursday,at the Leman suites Gidan Kwanu School Tunga Minna, the coordinator of the Rotary Action for peace in Niger State, Rotarian,Fauziya Abubakar Kure said the importance of peace can not be emphasized thus call for collaborative efforts to entrench peace in the state.
. ” As the State Coordinator of the Rotary Action Group for Peace in Nigeria, I am honoured to address you today on the recently launched National Community Violence Reduction Programme in commemoration of World Peace Day held on the September 21st 2025.”
According to Fauziya, Rotarians in Niger State,are committed to ensuring peace prevails amidst the current realities and challenges, adding that the National Community Violence Reduction Programme have keyed into our efforts to enhance peace building, security, and community engagement.
The coordinator further disclosed that Rotarians in the state recognize the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing violence and promoting peace.and call for partnerships and sponsorship from the well meaning Nigerians to partner in this initiatives.
Fauziya further explained that in accordance with the National Community Violence Reduction Programme various initiatives have been set up as part of 2025 activities to promote peace in different sectors of the society.
According to her such initiatives to includes,State Peace and Security Summit,Launch of an integrated Early Warning – Early Response system,others are to Commission Youth on Social Media Police.
“Our concern is mainly Specialized on peace and security training for grassroots security personnel and the public,Drug education, peace building, and deradicalization programmes to foster a culture of peace, enhance security and build resilience in our communities.
“As we look forward to your support in promoting peace in our state to commemorate World Peace Day, We are committed to working with all stakeholders to achieve the goals of the National Community Violence Reduction Programme.”Hajiya Fauziya re-enphasised.
Stake holders at the meeting includes the Rotarian Modupe,the past assistant president and president nominee, Rotarian Kazeem Rotary club of ring road Ibadan.
