NIGER CP VISIT DOKO COMMUNITY WITH A PROMISE TO HELP BROKER PEACE

As part of a effort to find a lasting peace to the land dispute in Doko Community of Lavun Local government  area of Niger State, the new  Commissioner of Police in the state Mr Ebenezer Shawulu Dan Maman on Tuesday visited the people with a promise to help broker peace .
On the entourage of the Commissioner of Police are the Niger State Commissioner for Homeland Security Brig.general Mohammed Bello (Rtd)and other security chiefs in Niger State.
The police boss in the state had an in-house discussion with the men and officers of the Doko Divisional Command during the one day visit and Immediately  proceeded to the disputed land in company of some Community leaders and stakeholders of Doko Community.
It would be recalled that earlier this week the President of Doko Progressive Forum (PDF) Col. Jiya Mahmud Liman (Rtd) had  appealed to governor Umar Mohammed Bago to intervene in bringing peace in the community.
The governor however in apparent response to the press statement, call the Commissioner of Police to mobilize other security chiefs in the state to take on the spot assessment visit to the disputed land and look into way of ensuring peace in Doko Community.
However, the Commissioner of Police and his entourage only visited the disputed land along with some critical stakeholders and some Community leaders as well as the current Etsu  Dazhi of Doko Alhaji Yahaya Abdullahi Madiu.
The Commissioner did not address the stakeholders “he only visited the disputed land and commended his men for their efforts in maintenance of law and order in the community” a source who was on the entourage of the visitors told this medium
In a telephone interview the Etsu Dazhi of Doko, Alhaji Yahaya Abdullahi Madiu appealed to governor Umar Mohammed Bago to as a matter of urgency assist in restoring peace and in the Doko Community.
According to him ” the disputed land has over the years have been under the control of my predecessors, why would some few individuals in Doko town  Claimed ownership of the land, this is a wicked and aimed at breeding disaffection.”
With court injunction restraining both parties from farming on the said land, the monarch insist that the ” Some people within Doko Community refused to comply with the court injunction and they still go about threatened my own subjects with dangerous weapons”.
” I’m appealing to the governor of Niger State Rt.Hon Mohammed Umar Bago and the Chief Judge of Niger State Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik to prevail on the Judiciary to expedite speedy dispensation of the Judgement in the interest of peace and Justice in the community” he concluded
