ISLAMIC CLERIC CALL FOR HAJJ ADVOCACY FOR INTENDING PILGRIMS TO SAUDI ARABIA
An Islamic cleric Mallam Umar Suleiman Tagagi, has called on intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia next year to ensure that they know basic rules of hajj rites that would facilitate the smooth conduct of their pilgrimage while in the holy land.
The cleric noted that some pilgrims in the past have little or no knowledge about hajj rites which made it difficult for them to undergo a smooth hajj pilgrimage.
According to him ” in the past some pilgrims find it difficult to know the right and the wrong approach to the conduct of Hajj exercise because many of them have refused to educate themselves on the basics of Hajj ”
He implore hajj operators especially those who are private operators to ensure that they institute Hajj advocacy to teach their Intending pilgrims how to conduct themselves while in Saudi Arabia.
He then called on government and those responsible for a hitch free Hajj to help subsidize hajj fares for intending pilgrims next year, saying that the cost has gone up and would adversely affect preparation and effective delivery of hajj in 2024.
